TOONGABBIE WEST SCHOOL PROFILE
The school has operated since 1967. The current school population is approximately 200.The number of classes has varied depending on the population and some internal re organisation have taken place but generally speaking, despite integration of activities, the school still has two major areas: the K-2/Administration block and the 3-6 block.
Our classroom teachers have been supported by a number of ancillary teachers and clerical staff. The current executive structure is comprised of the Principal, 2 Assistant Principals K-6, and an Assistant Principal Hearing Support Unit.
In addition to servicing the local population, a Hearing Support Unit has been established in the school. The classes in this unit are staffed and funded separately but integrated into school activities.
The excellent administration of the school has been facilitated by the global budgeting and the use of the Department's Computerised System (OASIS). In 1992 the School Council was established. The school and community takes pride in being involved in a wide spectrum of activities. The staff is keen to maintain its professional development and is well supported by an active parent body.
